THE COMPLETE RECORD

Trade Journal

Every closed position in sequence, losses included and unhidden. Results are recorded in R — multiples of the sum risked — because a record expressed in currency tells you about account size, while a record expressed in R tells you about process.

Illustrative record for methodology demonstration. Results are expressed in R and assume disciplined execution at the published risk limit. Past performance is not indicative of future results; you can lose your capital.

Why the losses are here

A strike rate below fifty per cent is not a defect in this record; it is the expected consequence of accepting asymmetric risk. Fourteen of these positions lost. The record remains positive because the average gain is materially larger than the average loss — which is the entire proposition, and the reason position sizing is treated as doctrine rather than preference.

Any desk can present a curated selection of profitable positions. The information that matters to an allocator is the shape of the losing sequence: how long it ran, how deep it went, and whether the operator adjusted their risk limit while it was happening. We did not.
